The drought of 2016 has had serious effects on ponds, lakes, and water supplies in New Hampshire. On a visit to Bear Hill Pond, one of the largest ponds inside Bear Brook State Park, the water level was at least two feet below normal. The following photos were take on the morning of October 3, 2016. The first photo shows boulders along the north shore of the pond. The brownish-tinted band shows the portion of the boulder that used to be underwater. Click on any photo to view an enlargement.
