March 8, 2016 was election day at St. John's Parish Hall on School St. This year, there were a lot of open positions in the Budget Committee. We need more people who are willing scrutinize the town budget and look for ways to minimize spending.

One surprise this year was that Jeff Gryval decided not to run for re-election. The residents of Allenstown thank him for his service as Selectman.

Election Results

A few write-in candidates were elected but turnout was again low this year, possibly because people have been bombarded daily by the ongoing Presidential Primaries. About 421 voters cast ballots out of about 2800 registered voters (a 15% turnout). For example, anyone who received about 350 votes was elected by only 12.5% of the total voters.
