Selectmen and New Town Administrator to Appear at the Old Meeting House

This is a reminder that, on Monday June 4th at 5:00 p.m., you have the opportunity to meet the newly hired Town Administrator, Derik Goodine of Maine, at the Old Allenstown Meeting House on Deerfield Rd. It's not clear why they picked that hour since most working people are either on the road or just getting home. For some background on Mr. Goodine, see the May 4th article on this site.

Also that night, the Selectmen (aka the BOS) are holding their annual meeting at 6:00 p.m. at the same location. This is just past Catamount Pond and before New Rye Rd. If you look at the June 4 Agenda, there are only a few items, so it should not be a long meeting.

You may have passed by the Meeting House, but this is your chance to step back in time and get a feel for how people conducted the town's business in an uninsulated building with straightback pews, no air conditioning in the summer, and no Internet access!
