Especially on School and Main Streets

During May, American flags are to re-appear on the utility poles along School St. and Main St. The EDC offers a big "Thank You" to the Allenstown Highway Department for its assistance with installing them.

Eversource has given us approval to fly the flags from May until November. You will note that we adhere to the U.S Flag Code and install them on poles with streetlights so that they are properly illuminated at night.

Also, in front of Town Hall, the Hometown Hero Banners are to be re-displayed. These are the banners that adorned the cover of the 2020 Annual Town Report. If you would like to honor your local veteran, contact the EDC.

Finally, at the local entrances to town, new Welcome Banners are to be installed, sporting our favorite bears.

The EDC is also giving Welcome banners to the two grade schools, the Police Station, and the Fire Station to make ours a truly festive town.

What You Can Do

Some time during May, watch for the crew installing the flags and banners around town. Thank them for dressing up the town with these patriotic displays.
