Catfish Howl - Another Great Event

On August 14, the weather was just fine for a concert combined with the first EDC Cruise Night. About 50 people turned out for the concert and 12-15 classic cars drove onto the ARD field for the Cruise Night. Residents living across the street from Town Hall also enjoyed the concert from their front porches.

The ARD Student Council once again supported the concert by setting up a booth and offering homemade cookies, baked goods, school logo items, and drinks.

The food concession, run by our Concord-based cook, Jamie Gendron, offered concert goers a choice of Italian sausage and onion subs, Cheeseburgers, and jumbo hot dogs, and soda.

People arrived early for the concert and set up under the large canopy or in the shade of some trees.

The five-piece band, led by Glen Robertson on the accordion, performed a lot of memorable and enjoyable music.

Meanwhile in the ARD field next door, classic cars began arriving while the band played. There was some confusion at first because we forgot to put out signs to direct the drivers because the entrance to the field was not obvious. Several people took charge of the situation and helped the drivers get onto the field.

We were pleased that about 15 cars of all vintages joined in the Cruise Night. We had everything from a 1933 Studebaker Rockne to a 1992 Buick Riviera.

During the mid-concert break, by pre-arrangement with Catfish Howl, Michael Frascinella took the stage and performed a few patriotic country songs by Aaron Tippin, to the delight of the audience.

The band returned to the stage and offered Mike the chance to play a few songs with them, which turned out to be great fun.
