The First Ever Senior Living Community in Allenstown

During two Selectmen's meetings in January 2020, a representative of Everbrook Senior Living of Massachusetts presented his company's plans to build the first assisted living facility in Allenstown's history. After several in-depth meetings with the Planning Board, final approval came in August 2020 and land clearing and construction began shortly thereafter.

When the Selectmen asked "Why Allenstown?" the representative said that the town was the perfect location between two major metropolitan centers. The more they investigated the town, the more they liked it.

The town understands that this project will result in a significant growth in Allenstown's downtown population. As a positive result, this growth will bring in additional revenue to the town and additional demand for local goods and services. It is anticipated that the town government and local businesses will support this growth.

Now that construction has been completed and state safety inspections have been approved, a Grand Opening is planned for a date in October (TBD). Note that senior living apartments are currently being rented. Hillsbrook Village, a brand new, four-story facility, is offering 119 units suited for independent, assisted, and memory care living conveniently located near the intersection of Routes 3 & 28, close to shopping and services. Their web site proclaims, "We are open!" and invites prospective clients with these words:

"Whether you are interested in having a respite from cleaning, cooking and home maintenance but need little or no care, or you need some assistance with daily living or some memory support, our expert staff will be ready to help.

"For Independent Living, each apartment offers amenities such as a fully equipped kitchen, spacious living room, private bathroom, washer/dryer, carpeting, smoke detector, and emergency calling. In addition, all residents, at no additional cost, will have access to "Wellness 4 Later Life," our innovative wellness program that offers a first-of-its-kind exercise program.

"Residents can also take advantage of other amenities such as an on-site movie theater, fitness center, library, salon, chapel, dining rooms, and a pub, as well as social, health, education, music, and art activity spaces.

"At Everbrook Senior Living, our staff is dedicated to creating a community where authenticity, trust, compassion, and respect are the foundation of all that we do."

As of mid-July, Robert Kelley, Everbrook Legal Counsel, stated that they have taken deposits on about half of the apartments. Since the facility offers numerous floor plans and features, he recommends that you first complete the online Cost Comparison Worksheet and then call the facility to discuss a solution that meets your needs. The Worksheet helps you identify the actual costs of all the utilities, services, and amenities you are paying for in your current home. That can be a baseline for comparison to a Hillsbrook Village apartment.
