Summer and Fall Events at Our State Park

The state park sustained considerable damage especially to its trail network when hit by the April storms. When asked how the restoration was progressing, Park Manager Christina Pacuk praised all the NH state workers and a host of volunteers who pitched in to clear away the downed tree and branches.

"Bear Brook State Park staff, along with the State of New Hampshire Forest Rangers, NEMBA (New England Mountain Bike Association), Southern New Hampshire Snow Slickers, Derry Trail Riders, and individual volunteers have opened up Bear Brook's trail system. They cleared brush off trails, cut back brush, and cut up down trees (all were certified by State Parks Dept. to use chainsaws).

We couldn't have cleared the trails without the helping hands of our volunteers. Our Bear Brook trail crew will continue to cut back brush along our trails to have them as close to what they were before the storm.

"New Hampshire Fish and Game removed the down trees from Archery Pond and Bear Brook's trail crew removed the downed trees and brush from the woodland archery course in early July."
