An Exciting Parade to Witness
Dateline: Aug. 28, 2025
Saturday August 23rd was a bright, sunny day, and on School Street, scores of eager Allenstown residents lined the street with lawn chairs and blankets in anticipation, and chatted with friends and neighbors as they awaited the start of the Old Home Day Parade.
Driving in from Route 3, there was a quick handshake with Police Chief Beth Tower and then on to an empty parking space behind Town Hall. The side streets were filled with scores of marchers, classic cars, tractors, Army trucks, floats, and police and fire vehicles.
A vantage point was selected across from Town Hall in the shade of nearby trees. This gave a good sunny view of the oncoming parade as it came over the crest of the road and passed by.
The following photos and two videos show what a successful event it was, an excellent collaboration between the people of Allenstown and Pembroke. This year's theme was "Family Fun with Video Games."
