We Will Never Forget
Dateline: Aug. 29, 2025
A Memorial Service is to be held at 9:15 a.m. on September 11, 2025 at St. John the Baptist Church, Allenstown, NH. Please join us as we remember.
September 11 is a day when we should remember and pay tribute to the 2,977 people killed and the numerous people who were injured during the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, now 24 years ago. These attacks occurred in New York City, Washington, DC, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
Islamic terrorists hijacked four passenger jets and flew two of them into the New York World Trade Center Towers in Manhattan (shown here) and the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. The fourth plane (United Airlines Flight 93) was aimed at Washington, DC, either the Capitol or the White House, but its passengers, led by Todd Beamer, bravely fought the terrorists in the cockpit until the plane crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Because of the huge loss of life and damage caused, these attacks became the biggest act of terrorism ever on United States soil.
What You Can Do
Pray for peace. Pray for all those who lost family, friends, and coworkers on that day and in the years following. Pray that our federal, state, and local governments remain vigilant so that this evil deed never happens again.
