On Monday April 13 at 5:30 p.m., head out to the Community School on River Rd. for the dedication of the new baseball field. THe field is located to the right of the building, past the playground.

Honorees who helped to make the field a reality include Armand and Claudette Verville and Bill and Sharon Gelinas. School Principal Shannon Kruger wrote that "Each honoree will be given the opportunity to throw out a first pitch simultaneously at about 5:40 p.m." It is to be hoped that there are four catchers at home plate. This will also be the rare case of the umpire calling out four balls and no strikes!

The school has purchased team uniforms and several players should be in attendance. When asked if there will be "Peanuts and Cracker Jacks" Ms. Kruger stated that there will be popcorn for attendees.

What You Can Do

Get there a bit early so you don't miss the action. This will also be an occasion to applaud the residents who offered time and resources to build a safe place for the kids to engage in a healthy, team building sport. It will be exciting to see the fulfillment of "If you build it, they will come."
