The Awards Ceremony for the Halloween Lighting Contest will be held at the Community School on River Rd. on Friday October 23rd at 5:30 p.m. during the Trunk or Treat Event.

Trophies and gift certificates are to be awarded for:

• Most Creative Decorations
• Scariest Decorations
• Best in Show

Here at the end of September, it's amazing to see how many homes are already decorated for Halloween.

This year the new Community Activities & Recreation Committee (CERC) is working together with the EDC to host the 2026 Halloween Lighting Contest. We are collaborating with the Community School to hold the Awards Ceremony at the school on River Rd. on Friday October 23rd at 5:30 p.m. during the
Trunk or Treat Event and the Halloween Howl Event.

• This is open to all Allenstown residents.
• Decorate your home with lights, spooky creatures, skeletons, giant spider webs, and anything you'd like.
• Take one or two good photos of your decorations, preferably at night if they include lighting. USE LANDSCAPE FORMAT, PLEASE
• Register by sending you name and address and one or two photos to economic-development@comcast.net
• Registered homes will be added to the contest web page as they are received as shown above. Use the addresses to go there to view and enjoy the decorations up close.
• The slideshow should change every several seconds. To quickly move through the photos or restart the slideshow if it stops, click on the faint arrows on either side of a photo or use the left and right arrow keys on your keyboard. To randomly select a photo, click on a gray dot below the photo.

• Sunday Sept. 27 to Weds. Oct. 21 – Register your home decorations
• Oct. 21 – CERC and EDC members will view homes during October and vote for winners in each category
