New Town Offices have arrived
on Main Street
Dateline: Oct. 23, 2026
October 23rd was the big day. Employees at the old Town Hall were packed up and ready for the big move. Upon walking into the one and only meeting room, one table and two chairs remained, occupied by Town Administrator John Harrington and Finance Clerk Veronica Anaya. When asked for a statement about the move, both wearily said, "No comment." When asked about the other employees, the response was "They are over at the new building."
For a parting photo, here is a look through the window at the now vacant Town Clerk's office.

The parking lot was filled with several moving trucks. Workers with hand trucks were loading file cabinets, desks, and other furniture into the trucks.
More than two men were packing up the old Town Hall.
When asked about the origin of the company name (Two Men and a Truck,) one of the movers said, "My grandfather started the business about 50 years ago in Michigan with just him, a high school friend, and one truck. Today it has grown into a national enterprise with over 430 locations in the U.S."
The crew for this move came from Wilmington, Mass.
At the new Town Hall, Facilities Supervisor Peter DeSantis and Family Services Administrator Karen O'Connor were examining a floor plan of the building. Peter said, "It's good to be at this stage. I hope the public is as enthusiastic as the employees about this new facility."

NOTE: The camera white balance was not properly set so interior photos have a slight yellow tint.
Peter explained that the middle stairways divide the floors into four quadrants so the rooms had numbers in the 100s and 200s on the first floor and in the 300s and 400s on the second floor.
On the first floor, several rooms had handwritten signs identifying their purposes.
Room 104 is assigned to the Building Inspector and room 106 is assigned to Avitar Associates, the town's assessor.
The Allenstown Historical Society finally has a place to display historical artifacts in room 202.
Room 206 is where you will find the Town Clerk/Tax Collector.

Jackie Tate and Matt LaFlamme were in their new digs going through boxes and tables full of equipment and supplies. An attractive, long customer counter featured five windows with glass panels, the last window being designed for the handicapped. Large exterior windows gave an expansive view of Main Street.

Matt said, "This is a very impressive office. Peter DeSantis did an outstanding job managing the renovations. This office will greatly improve our ability to assist and serve the residents of Allenstown."
On the second floor several rooms had notes identifying their purpose.
Training rooms for Fire Med
On the second floor, two rooms are proposed as training classrooms for Fire Med, a company that trains firefighters and EMTs. They have been currently renting the Fire Station meeting room but have been seeking more space for their training classes.
Across the hall, room 304 is for the Finance Dept.
What had been the school library will now be a very large meeting room that can seat a large audience if needed.

What You Can Do
Bid "Farewell" to the old Town Hall and take time to explore the new Town Hall.
Remember that the new Town Clerk/Tax Collector office is accessible from the south (left) end of the building.
Please be courteous to the employees. They had been under a strain getting packed up for the move while continuing to do their jobs, and then having to unpack and get their offices set up and operational for the first day of business on Wednesday October 28th.
